Prof. J.W.A. Kondoro - Principal, Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology		The Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) is an Institution of Technical Education which was established in 1997 through an Act of Parliament and it is fully accredited
by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) to offer technician and engineering programmes leading to the qualifications of National Technical Awards Level 6 (Ordinary Diploma) and 8 (Bachelor of Engineering) respectively. These programmes are competence based. DIT is collaborating with Leeds Metropolitan University (Leedsmet) in delivering a Masters degree in Facilities Management in Tanzania via e-Learning. Besides, the Institute is comprehensively networked with fibre optic cables and wireless hotspots. Our ultimate goal is to transform our Institution to a World class Centre of Excellence in Engineering, Applied Sciences and Entrepreneurship. We believe that success comes out of the skilled hand and the innovative mind.

RECATEGORISATION OF DR. CHRISTIAN W.M. NYAHUMWA WHO IS THE DIRECTOR OF STUDIES TO THE RANK OF ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Principal of the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology Prof. J.W.A. Kondoro has the pleasure to announce to all members of the DIT Community that Dr. Christian W.M. Nyahumwa who is the Director of Studies has been recatogorized to the rank of Associate Professor with effect from 1st June, 2010 in line with NACTE Hamornised Scheme of Service.

Prof. C.W. Nyahumwa who was Lastly promoted by the University of Dar es Salaam from Lecturer to Senior Lecturer in July 1999 has been recatogorized following the evaluation of his publications (Journal Papers, Technical Reports, Conference papers and Consultancy Reports) which has been approved by the DIT-Council Chairman.

On behalf of the DIT Community the Principal Prof. J.W.A. Kondoro once again takes this opportunity to congratulate Prof. Christian W.M. Nyahumwa for this well deserved achievement.
