Super Computer

The centre is equipped with a Linux based supercomputing cluster namedParam Serengeti”. The facility is for education and research in various scientific fields. The facility includes 20 Terabytes of raw storage and 38 Terabytes of tape backup along with relevant backup software

E-Learning

E-learning comprises all forms of electronically supported learning and teaching. The Information and communication systems, whether networked or not, serve as specific media to implement the learning process. The Software used here is called e-Sikshak

            The India-Tanzania Centre of Excellency in ICT (ITCoEICT) was founded in 2009 as a result of friendly relation between the two stated countries and their desires for further strengthening bilateral cooperation in the area of Information Technology. The project implementing agencies on behalf of the two countries are Tanzania Dar Es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) and India Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC).

            To ensure availability of required faculty members to work with Centre, the Government of Tanzania sent eight DIT teaching staff to India for 6-months specialized training in the areas of advanced computing, wireless and mobile computing, and embedded system design.

OBJECTIVE

     The principal objective of the ITCoEICT is to promote development of Information and Communication Technology in the United Republic of Tanzania.
