Academic Programmes
DIT is fully accredited by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) to run and grant awards to Technician and Engineering programmes to successful candidates Ordinary Diploma and Bachelor Degrees in Engineering.
Ordinary Diploma Programmes
The Basic Technician Certificate and Technician certificate are part of the Ordinary Diploma. Students who wish to exit or fail to attain an Ordinary Diploma but have successfully fulfilled the requirements for awards of Basic Technician Certificate or Technician Certificate shall be awarded the awards qualified for. Ordinary Diploma courses are offered in six semesters covered in three academic years
- Ordinary Diploma in Civil Engineering
- Ordinary Diploma in Computer Engineering
- Ordinary Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Ordinary Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering
- Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Ordinary Diploma in Science and Laboratory Technology
- Ordinary Diploma in Mining Engineering
Bachelor Degrees in Engineering
The Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) courses are of six semesters covered in three academic years. Higher Diploma is part of the Bachelor degree. Students who wish to exit or fail to attain Bachelors Degree but have successfully fulfilled the requirements for the awards of a Higher Diploma shall be awarded the Higher Diploma. The following fields are available:
- B.Eng in Civil Engineering
- B.Eng in Computer Engineering
- B.Eng in Electrical Engineering
- B.Eng in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering
- B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering
Post-graduate Studies
In response to the market demands and technological challenges, DIT has introduced a 2 academic year postgraduate studies in collaboration with the Leeds Metropolitan University – UK for the award of MSc. in Facilities Management.
