DIT is fully accredited by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) to run and grant awards to (technician and Engineering programmes to successful candidates. Awards offered are National Technical Level (NTA) 4 – 6 (Ordinary Diploma) and 7 – 8 Bachelor of Engineering).
Basic Technician Certificate and Technician Certificate
The Basic Technician Certificate and Technician certificate are part of the Ordinary Diploma. Students who wish to exit or fail to attain an Ordinary Diploma but have successfully fulfilled the requirements for awards of Basic Technician Certificate (NTA 4) or Technician Certificate (NTA 5) shall be awarded the awards qualified for.

iv. Ordinary Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering

vii. Ordinary Diploma in Mining Engineering
viii. Ordinary diploma in Biomedical Equipment Engineering
Higher Diploma
Higher Diploma is part of the Bachelor degree. Students who wish to exit or fail to attain Bachelors degree but have successfully fulfilled the requirements for the awards of a Higher Diploma shall be awarded the Higher Diploma. (NTA 7)
Bachelor of Engineering (NTA 8) Programmes
The Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) programmes are for six semesters covered in three academic years, which include:
i. B.Eng (Civil Engineering)
ii. B.Eng (Computer Engineering)
iii. B.Eng (Electrical Engineering)
iv. B.Eng (Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering)
v. B.Eng (Mechanical Engineering)
Post-graduate Studies
In response to the market demands capacity and technological challenges, DIT has supported 2 academic year postgraduates studies run in collaboration with the Leeds Metropolitan University – (UK) for the award of MSc. in Facilities Management. DIT has also developed a curriculum for offering Master of Engineering in Maintenance Management which has been submitted to NACTE for validation.
