COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course enables Engineers and Technicians to start from scratch and have basic knowledge and skills for the creation of 2D technical drawings using AutoCAD software package. The course is targeted to engineers, technicians and artisans in mechanical, electrical or architectural fields who have no hands on in AutoCAD. The course is not biased to specific disciplines of mechanical, civil or electrical engineering, and will focus on the use of AutoCAD to create drawings for ones area of specialization.

• Ability to describe and manipulate the essential parts of a personal computer
• Ability to identify and select software for Computer Aided Drafting
• Ability to produce drawings with AutoCAD
• Ability to edit the drawing.

 

• Starting AutoCAD
• Setting and customizing the working environment in window
• Deciding of precision factors (Snaps, grid and scale)
• How to execute Drawing AutoCAD commands simple objects.
• How to execute Modifying AutoCAD commands simple objects.
• Use of layers and Object Properties tool bar further editing
• Dimension manipulation
• Creating hatched areas
• Adding Text to drawings
• Use of blocks and external references
• Creating or use template title blocks and preparing a drawing for plotting/printing

Certificates and handout shall be awarded at the end of the course.
