Civil Engineering Department

The department offers Ordinary Diploma in Engineering (ODE) at NTA level 6 and Bachelor of Engineering Degree (B. Eng) at NTA Level 8. Students admitted for ODE may exit at NTA level 4 and 5 with the award of Basic Technician Certificate (BTC) and Technician Certificate (TC) respectively. Successful students who complete Ordinary Diploma course are awarded an Ordinary Diploma at NTA level 6. While those for engineering degree courses, may exit at NTA level 7 and are awarded a Higher Diploma in Engineering (HDE), including those who proceed to NTA level 8, but are unable to qualify for a degree.

Successful students who complete NTA level 8 are awarded Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering.

The Department supports Leeds Metropolitan University (LMU) of UK, in offering a Masters degree (MSc) programme in Facilities Management since February 2005.

To support the above programmes, the department possesses adequate physical and human resources including lecturers, classrooms, laboratories and workshops. It has 32 qualified teaching staff members and four technical supporting personnel.
