Library is the place where every scholar, academician or intellectual is likely to visit frequently. It is a place conducive for individual learning and meditation. It is this place where issuing and acquisition of books and other learning materials take place. Actually it is meant to provide a wide range of information materials in or more convenient and reliable way every one who values education will therefore agree that library is an essential academic facility.
It was for this reason that the DIT Library was established. Here you will find regulations which aim at facilitating a convenient and optimal utilization of information resources available in the library by every member. It is essential therefore, that DIT com900-999 geography and Historymunity contributes to its satisfactory operation by observing all principles and regulations which govern it.

DIT library is an academic library whose collection mainly comprises of materials for the courses that the institute offers, that is for the fields of Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Extelecom and Telecommunication engineering, Laboratory Technology and Computer skills. Also it offers materials for such supporting subjects as Mathematics, Communication Skills, Labour Law and management and development studies. According to the statistics of the previous stocktaking the library has a total of 15,000 documents and 10,000 titles. These include Text books, Journals, Theses, Manuals, Directors, Bibliographies, Reports, Research papers, Encyclopedias and Handbooks.
The collection of materials are catalogued, classified and shelved by subject class numbers as per Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme (DDC). This system divides the world of knowledge into the following ten classes:
0001-009 General Works
100-199 Philosophy and General Works
300-399 Social Sciences
500-599 Pure Sciences
600-699 Technology (Applied sciences)
900-999 geography and History
